Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before the first stitch.

Have questions about minimums, artwork, timelines, samples, shipping, or getting started? Here are a few things that can help before we begin.

Start Your Project
Need help?

Your project doesn't have to be fully planned.

Reach out with the information you have, and sewKC can help figure out the rest.

Ask sewKC
What is your minimum order?+
Our typical minimum is 50. But great ideas don’t always fit neatly into minimums.

Most sewKC projects have a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces, but not every great idea fits neatly into a rule. Product, design, complexity and production needs all play a part.

If you have a “one off” or something interesting in mind, reach out. We look at projects case by case and would much rather ask “How can we make this work?” than shut down a great idea before we've heard it.

Can I bring my own items?+
Maybe! Let us take a look.

We can embroider some customer supplied items, but fabric, construction, condition and the type of embroidery all matter. Some things stitch beautifully. Others...not so much.

Send us a photo or bring the item by and we'll let you know what's possible. If it isn't a good candidate, we'll help you find another way to bring your idea to life.

What file types do you need?+
Send us what you've got. We'll take it from there.

Vector artwork such as AI, EPS or SVG is ideal, and high quality PDF, PNG and JPG files can often work too.

Don't speak fluent graphic designer? No worries. Send us the best version you have. Our team can review your artwork and help determine what we need to turn it into something beautiful in thread.

Can I see a sample first?+
Of course. We want you excited before we start stitching 50, 100 or 500 of anything.

You'll have an opportunity to review and approve your design before full production begins. Depending on the project, that may include a digital proof, sew out or sample so we can make sure the details are right before we hit GO.

What is the turnaround time?+
It depends on what we're making and how much magic is involved.

Turnaround varies based on quantity, product availability, design complexity and our current production schedule.

Have a deadline? Tell us up front. Tight timelines don't automatically scare us. We've built a bit of a reputation around here for saying “We'll figure it out.” If we can make it happen without compromising the work, we'll tell you how.

Do you help with design placement and sizing?+
Absolutely. That's part of what we're here for.

A great design can look completely different depending on where it goes, how large it is and what it's being stitched onto. We'll help recommend sizing, placement and other details so the finished piece looks intentional and feels right.

Have an idea but aren't quite sure how to execute it? Even better. We love those conversations.

Do you offer shipping or local pickup?+
Yes.

We can arrange shipping or local pickup depending on your project and where you're located. We'll work out the best way to get your finished pieces from our hands into yours as part of your project planning.

How do I get started?+
Tell us your idea. It doesn't have to be fully baked.

Use our quote form and send us whatever you know. A logo, approximate quantity, product idea and deadline are plenty to get the conversation started.

Don't know exactly what you want yet? That's okay too.
